the heart dwells

about me

my journey first started as a mental health professional working in a traditional counseling setting offering individual, couple and family therapy. simultaneously, I was practicing yoga for my own self care and experienced first-hand how yoga offered something I didn’t find in the traditional counseling setting and sought out to pursue my 200 hour yoga teacher certification in order to enhance my therapy practice. yoga is a beautiful metaphor for life as well as adjunct service to mental and physical wellbeing by providing what is called a bottom-up approach to healing.

I then stepped into community mental health where I meet with individuals who don’t otherwise have access to resources and mental health help that they need. from my experiences, I’ve witnessed a profound disconnect and lack of true resources to offer people deep, authentic healing. instead, we use bandaids to cover up symptoms in the name of “healing” the symptoms when in reality the "cure" is just masking them.

how we are individually naturally impacts the lens we use in relationships and thus, impacts how we are in relationships. I am passionate about helping relationships heal and thrive as I know individually we impact the health of our relationship and our relationship impacts our individual health.

I firmly believe that we all already have the answers within ourselves, we just forget sometimes and need a little guidance to connect back to the library of resources we house within.

thus, the heart dwells was birthed.

thank you for trusting me to partner alongside you in this journey. when we heal, we heal the world. when we change, we change the world. my hope and intention is that you as you learn and understand more about yourself and relationships, you deeply cultivate your own cozy space within; a place you call home and the place you’ve sought all your life- all within yourself.
